#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Brightly colored hydrangea are blooming all over the front and back yard, everywhere I look. And the bee balm, bright red, is charming the hummingbirds. I deadheaded daisies. The groundhog is having his way with the milkweed. The peas have been weeded and all the other vegetables await a clearing up. The bunnies run rampant over the property. And the mosquitos. Wave and I tried to go into the garden after a late dinner, but they chased us back indoors. Yes, I am happy to be home. Charlie and I out bright and early, and then I swam before getting Wave to his early swimming lesson. He swam for the first time, a very very small bit of a way to his instructor, but it was a true coordination of face in water, arms pulling and legs kicking of his own volition. And he floated on his back for a few seconds too. Great progress. He helped me food shop, a huge undertaking to restock the house. He was very cooperative. This afternoon, he and I went to Farm Pond. It was more cloudy than sunny, but he had fun playing with me. Soon, the black clouds erupted in thunder and lightning and hale fell like ice chips from a machine as we ran for the car. I made Wave’s favorite meal, the first dinner I’ve made in weeks. Whew! Everyone appreciated me being home to cook. But Frank and I are truly tired, even with naps, as we try to make our way back to US time. And, early lesson for Wave again tomorrow. I have gotten only a little bit of work done and hope to find my way back to my desk tomorrow, but I’m also trying to spend time with Wave and the household needs a lot. Franci has trained Wave to shoo the groundhog out of the garden with a loud voice every time he’s spotted. Every little bit helps.
