A short walk and appreciation of the blooms. Wildflowers and potted geraniums and beach roses. Then I take a swim. Which feels terrific. And I work on my uncle’s service for next Tuesday, talk to my brother. It’s coming together so nicely. I finish, with a new ending, my new poem from last week, and I really am satisfied with it. Time at Farm Pond with Wave in the afternoon, swimming. Before we go he tells me, “Grammy, yesterday in my lesson, I put my whole head under the water.” I suggest that he can show me at Farm Pond. But, nope. That trick still belongs to his swimming lesson with Emma. Tonight, pickleball with family and friends. It’s after dark when Frank and I get home. There is only a fifty percent chance of rain, so I insist we water. He does the gardena and I do the shrubs. We meet back indoors. The rain comes as soon as we’re inside.
