#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Charles River

Breathing at the brook, about to take a picture, and my IPhone fell into the water. It took me about 15 seconds to fish it out, as it was murky. But, with relief, I found it and ran inside to do my best to dry it off. Sheesh! I need my camera! Charlie was sad that our walk was cut so short. I used a hair dryer on a cool setting and shook the phone onto my palm to clear the water out. The phone is working fine, now, but not the camera which is blurry. So, I’m trying the bag of rice trick to draw any water out of the camera. We shall see. I took my swim and tried not to fuss about the phone. Busy morning and early afternoon prepping for my Grandmother/Persona Poem/Dramatic Monologue workshop tonight which went really well and was worth my prep. So juicy. So rich. Great sharing, and great impact. Whew! I’m excited about this material and this project. Wave in the car today got quite engaged with my spontaneous story about Charlie and Brittany. So engaged that after we got home and he got out of his car seat he wouldn’t get out of the car until I told it again. I had so sit in the back seat next to him, and I just continued the story, doing the voices of Brittany and Charlie talking to each other while left home alone and the trouble they go into while trying to find snacks and the coyote that broke into the house that Charlie had to fight, and then the addition of grammy coming home and finding the damage the coyote’s did to the door, and her relief that Charlie and Brittany were okay, and yes, giving them the snack they earned, and then Wave was ready for us to take the story outdoors into the yard where he became Brittany and I got to be Charlie and we ran around the yard and encountered coyotes. . . . and I was pretty tired by the time I was able to coax him indoors so I could get ready for my group. Whew!
