#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Brittany, Groomed

The team is tired today. Not Brittany, though. Thanks to my daughter, who stayed up pre-grooming her last night, and who got her dropped at a groomer first thing this morning, she is energetic and her appetite is strong. She is adjusting well to sudden changes. My day was spent in errands, phone calls. I did take a swim. I thought of skipping it, as pressures mounted, and then went, even for less time than on a normal day. And I enjoyed every single lap, and I felt great about being in the pool. It was a feeling of gratitude I carried through the day. It was fun to be the one to pick Brittany up and see her transformed! Wave was with me, and we had a great time. He is very enthusiastic about her, and sensitive to her feelings. Tonight, while I was producing the online Journal of Expressive Writing Feature, a visitor came into my room wearing only a watch. Yup. A boy with a watch and nothing else. Fortunately, I managed to shield my viewers and he seems to have learned that I need to not be interrupted when I am in groups. He left quietly. I am grateful to be in bed tonight. For rest. I think my aunt is psychic. She called in the late afternoon. Even though I heard that she had made a dozen calls, starting before 7 a.m. to other members of the team, she had not called me all day. And when she did call, what she wanted to know was simple: “Kelly, is everybody on the team okay?” At the end of her first long day in a strange place, without Brittany beside her, what was concerning her was––us. I assured her we are all okay, and we are.
