#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Wonderful to wake here, and I am grateful. I wake early, decently rested, eager for my morning walk, Down the hill with the wind blowing through the tops of the trees, the dusty road on my feet. Then, the sudden vista of the sand and the sea, Playa Pelada in morning sun, the vast blue, the craggy rocks. The tide pools and the seabirds and the scattering of morning walkers. I take a short walk today, a quick dip in the ocean. I need to get back for my Wednesday morning writers, and it’s a few degrees cooler so my walk up the hill is quite manageable. My writing prompt is quite powerful; the writing in the workshop is really dynamic. Then a quick break before my Israeli therapist support group, and the experiential prompt I’ve prepared also takes us into deep conversation and connection. I am free now, of work commitments until next week. I am reading both the Carver biography and the Leslie Jamison memoir (audible) - both compelling, excellent reads. I had an acceptance for two of my images in a journal; one of them an ice abstract from this winter that I like very much and I’m glad it found a home. And then, the excitement of my youngest arriving from the Liberia airport to join us. Happiness! She is safely here. We have a lovely dinner up the dirt road at Lagarta Lodge. We walk there and back, me and my daughter and Po, and the stars are out, the moon is becoming full, and there is soft, soft breeze of welcome blowing over us all.
