#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Today was on the couch day. I got up late, had a lovely breakfast with Wave alone in the kitchen, dipping eggs, and then I swam my laps and then I collapsed on the couch under a blanket and napped on and off all day. Frank was sweet, brought me leftovers for dinner and we watched “Small Things Like These,” the movie based on the novel by Claire Keegan based on the Magdalena laundries of Ireland. I have not read her novel, but most of her short stories, and now I do want to read/listen to Small Things Like These. I just felt every ounce of energy drained out of me, and I let myself rest. I am also reading, actually reading in book form, Mathew Zapruder’s Story of. a Poem about poetry, writing poems, and his son’s autism. It was kind of blissful, under a blanket, with the fire and a book in my hand and the freedom to fall asleep as often as I needed. My after Christmas bliss.
