September River in rain

Today was the day. Boots back on, with socks. Haven’t put boots on my feet in months. Big sign that autumn is virtually here. A few days til Equinox. And the rain is coming down, as heavy tonight as it was this morning as I woke up. It never stopped raining all day. For breakfast, what he wanted this morning as soon as he woke up, was soup with stuff in it. Translation, by his mother: vegetable soup. For breakfast? Well, I made him an egg sandwich and we promised him that Aunt Franci would make a soup for dinner. I went for my walk with Charlie. Went to poetry workshop and was very pleased that my revisions worked. Also, I worked a bit on my taxes. My daughter said she’d make the soup. In theory. When he got home from school, I thought he would forget about soup and not care. But all he still wanted was soup. And my daughter needed time to finish what she was doing. And then we didn’t have the ingredients in the house. So we went to the store, all of us, for the vegetable stock and onions and. And then I could see my daughter didn’t have time to prepare to perform two scripts in my showcase and make soup. Was he sure he still wanted soup? Yes, he was sure. So, I made the soup before getting to my Play Lab Showcase at 6:00. And my soup was delicious. And everyone but my daughter/actor had soup, and he ate his with his mother, and I ran my Play Lab Showcase, and all the performances were excellent, like the soup, and then my daughter who was supposed to make the soup, ate her soup after performing.
