#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Whoosh, my eyes won’t stay open long enough to write and post this! Homecoming. A downpour. I go out early with Charlie and as we take our long walk the intense rain starts. Later, I learn that in Southeastern, MA, a tornado has touched down. Not surprised––this weather is intense. I’m glad to be back walking in the wildflower strewn meadow that is my home habitat. EVERYTHING is water logged, all the plants, and the milkweed is pressed against the ground as are most of the tender plants. I work this morning, and the afternoon requires a nap and some unpacking and a swim at the pool where it rains hard, again, on all of us in the pool, but we don’t have to get out. I walk home, in flip-flops, through the fields and woods since my daughter dropped me at the pool. I’m glad for a second walk. Finally, clearing and the lovely warmth of sun on my face, on my shoulders, my back. A lovely dinner with friends in town closes the day. Now, every ounce of my energy spent. Our bedroom french doors and windows have new screens and I have them wide open to the mild and pleasant breeze and the crickets’ song for sleeping.
