#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Awake in the hotel room, Frank has departed to play tennis in the 15th Arrondissement. I have slept deliciously well. So, I have breakfast in the -1 floor of the hotel, nothing special, but I walk in the breezy sunshine. It’s cooler, still summery. I go along the Seine, with the boxers in classes on the river’s edge, and the bicyclists on their way to work. There is a noisy bustle of traffic and the wind driven current on the river. It’s quite pleasant. And I find a few stray poppies to admire. I don’t walk that far as Frank is returning soon and we will check out of our hotel. We spent the night in a hotel at the last minute because the AirBnB we had gotten was not adequate and we didn’t stay. We managed to find another nearby on Rue St. Dominique, and we left our bags at the hotel and had the day together before checking in. We walked over to the Champs Elysees to go to the Public Drug Store to replace my sunglasses that I bought there last year that were crushed against my chest in an overly enthusiastic hug of departure by my friend! Then, a lunch in the sun on their patio before walking back to get our luggage and check into the new AirBnB—success! A view from our bedroom of the Eiffel Tower! It’s very pleasant and just right with windows open to the street and red gerarniums in the window boxes. Fourth floor. I am very happy and quickly settle in to meet with my Wed. morning writers to do the critique group make up session I missed because of our train on Wednesday. Very special to be with these lovely women writers at home while I am far away. Amazing to cross these miles, this ocean, and bring this wonderful work along with me. Then, a casual dinner in a nearby cafe, and a taxi to a concert near St. Germain des Pres in a church: Chopin by candlelight. A small, intimate beautiful classical concert. Home to our room with a view. A picture sent from home of my grandson fishing on the Charles sweetens the night. Frank got us a bike tour for tomorrow. Oh dear! There is a Friday night hoopla outside the window!
