#NewThisDa Writing From My Photo Stream
Under the spectacle of the moon tonight. From indoors, we see it rising, and I walk out in my bare feet in the wet grass, carrying the special one so we can see it beaming behind the big pine. He is very pleased. And then it’s time to read. We sit on my loveseat in front of the window in my office with a view to the pine and sky and watch it rise and rise into the blue night. Day started with a long and lovely walk. A muddy trail. So much rain and coolness. River so high. I work most of the day on prep for my Mass. Poetry presentations. And Frank and I have an online session of the family constellations where he does work on his ancestors. It’s very powerful. We don’t get a chance to talk it through as the special one is in our care. I make pizzas and we have dinner in front of the fire. There is much happiness to have Papa home all around. I have finished listening to a wonderful memoir, “My Cousin Maria Schneider,” by Vanessa Schneider, translated from the French by Molly Ringwald, and read by Molly Ringwald on Audible. Beautifully read, I should say. Very moving memoir of the short life and acting career of Maria Schneider, French actress who was cast, fatefully, in The Last Tango in Paris, and it’s about the impact of the abuse she suffered in that movie, directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, who never took responsibility for the abuse. The author, her cousin Vanessa, is a French journalist who was very close to her and fond of her, and it’s a thoughtful and beautifully written account. I am just starting another memoir! I am lucky in finding good memoirs on Audible this month!
