Silvery sky with lilac this morning. A swim. A good one. Then, outdoors in the yard, a wander, with the special one, a bit of raking and picking up sticks. Cold. Sunny. White, fly-away clouds in blue. Wind on the river. No mallards. A stop at the brook running under the trail. Running water, trickling water over stones. He takes off his boots. He must be barefoot. There is a soft loveliness of mud on the soles of bare skin. A goldfinch, tree top, song. Indoors, I prepare for my book launch. Which goes well, and I’m so pleased to have Jenny ask me such interesting questions. And my daughter, also there, answering questions so well. I have fun, despite being a bit nervous. Everyone in the house also watching, different computers. I descend the stairs after to applause! We have hot chocolate and another sweet dinner at the round table by the fire. Another weekend of togetherness. Then, end of day, Frank gets out his portable vacuum. I take the dishwasher. We put the order back together.
