#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Back into the pool on a rainy April morning. Then home, and a walk with the special one to see the excavator in our neighbor’s yard digging them a new driveway. Moving dirt has never been more thrilling! Then, some time in the woods by myself, by the brook where the old leaves are topped by the new growth of the maple buds. All the recycling and organic matter. Then, to a poetry workshop with a poem that’s pretty good, and the feedback is helpful. I have been working, also, on the new manuscript, a full-length poetry collection, and have made some progress. And then, after lunch, a shift of my energy to the household. A big shift. A big unpacking and organizing of all the items that were in the dining room before the fire; integrating them into the new space. All the fine china, dishes, glasses, memories. Box after box after box unpacked. Frank cheering me on. There are still many boxes and items in the storage unit. But this is done. I had no idea when I would feel like getting done and now it’s done and all the rest will get done as well.
