#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Pancakes and dipping eggs. I am in service of the special one’s breakfast. And then we are off to pool. I swim laps while the special one waits in the childcare. And then it’s our turn. A lovely start to the day. Except I don’t go for a walk. Charlie gets a walk with my daughter. The heart of the house all weekend has been the dining room. And when i get home from the pool, Frank and my youngest are both working at the dining room table in front of the fire. It’s a hub. We’ve had all of our meals there, but it’s the place of gathering all day long. I join them and get some work done too. I send my Aim for Astonishing writing prompt. The household grows quieter. Frank and I are the ones left at the table, working, keeping each other company. Then my daughter’s boyfriend comes home and he has dinner, in front of the fire, with me and Frank. They make dinner and bring it to me! Frank’s crab cakes. And it’s light out into the evening. The night is young. I write a draft of a new poem from the prompt I sent out today. Still, in front of the fire. And my youngest comes home, eats her dinner, leftover, next to my poem-making.
