#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Very Novembery. Awake at 4:30 from a dream that someone special from my past was alive again. Stayed for a time in that liminal state. And then a poem, some first lines came, and I wrote them down. Soon, got a first draft of a poem. And then the boy wandered in, it was time to get up for school, and he wanted me to go downstairs to get his mother a cup of coffee! When I brought it to her she laughed, as this had not been a request that originated with her, but with him. Toast and jam and he was out the door. But it was sleeting. And stayed fairly dark all day. Cold in the house, and wet outside, and I didn’t let this desire for warmth keep me home. I swam my mile and walked Charlie briefly in the wet drab woods with most of the color and interest gone. Worked more on the poem. Had a client, and then drove for iced tea with my youngest for a time to chat. I made dinner for all and it was warm and friendly around the table, candles lit. Tonight, my Play Lab, and we worked hard, and boy, I’m tired. I will sleep well.
