What a happy Thanksgiving. A beautiful meal, made by me and Frank, a lovely, intimate dinner, and a bright blue sky outdoors. After the guests departed, it was just our family, and the kitchen had been cleaned up and I could barely move from pleasant exhaustion, we all agreed to meet my son in the woods for a campfire by the river under the moon. Best, best part of the day. My son brewed a hemlock tea in a little pot he set into the fire, then served it all around. My grandson toasted some marshmallows, of course, and the dogs nestled by the fire. If was the perfect way to end this special day, warmed by the fire in the woods.
