#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Charles River Reflection

Rain overnight, rain overnight often lately. I wake early with Frank, to say goodbye, his quick trip away, and then the house is quiet. Until Wave is up, and wants his breakfast, and we have a calm and sweet, pleasant beginning to the day in the kitchen over his dipping egg and hot chocolate. And it will be another summer day, an extra one. I have a bit of a slow swim; energy low. A busy week. But I do my laps, all of them. I have scheduled only one thing today, essential: my new computer. A date with Apple Store. It’s actually easier and more pleasant and less stressful than I imagine. I have my new one where my whole work life lives. In celebration, I let my daughter know I will pick up Wave from school and take him to Farm Pond. Perhaps our last afternoon to celebrate the warmth? And both my daughters come and my nephew comes and his father comes and our new friends, Wave’s friends, come, and I don’t swim, but we race on the beach and the foliage is reflected in the water. A water snake swims by us as we watch from shore. He is enjoying the sun as well. And, as we’re leaving, here comes my friend Po up the steps for her swim! We all want this time in our pond to last and last. The weather will change, of course. But we’ve had this special day. And after I make pizza for everyone I am off duty, upstairs, ready for rest.
