#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Sunday morning means a chance to write before going out. I sent my weekly Aim for Astonishing email. Had a swim in the pool; it was crowded for the first time this week. So, in the meadow with Charlie, I had the chance to really feel the pleasure of peace and quiet and calm. Next the milkweed. Where I met the ladybug on a pod. It warmed up and the weather forecast is for sun and warmer days this week. Perhaps time at the pond! I had a lovely afternoon. My daughter was performing for True Story Theater, so we drove to Arlington together and while she went in early to set up I worked in the sun outside on a new poem. The show was excellent. One of their best. We were outside in one of the board member’s yards and I sat in the sun. The stories from the audience that were shared and played back were so moving and vulnerable and brave. I had chills. I was so glad I went, and the time chatting with my daughter was special. Everything felt bright today. Frank had made dinner for all of us, waiting, when we got home. After dinner I finished a draft of the new poem for workshop tomorrow, but I will wait until morning to send it. It’s so darn fresh, I have no perspective on it yet. I told a story during the pre-show, warming up, in a small group. Mary Elizabeth, a troupe member, was offering sing-backs. She sang back my story for me. It helped me with my poem. It was truly a gift and moved me deeply.
