#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Tree of Peace,, January Wetlands
Such melting and rainfall all day. First, a swim. Pool tranquil; I am one of only a few. No swim team workouts. I relished the quiet in the echo chamber and calm of the water in the empty lanes. Then I took Charlie, as promised, into the wetlands. I saw a tree’s fabulous reflection in the brook and all day I’ve been feeling the peace of this tree in my mind’s eye. It was exciting to be back in my groups: Ukrainian support group this morning, and Aim for Astonishing tonight. There was gladness in the kitchen, too, because I cooked for everyone. Salmon and green beans and popovers. I laughed at the sight of my popovers as they came out of the oven. Because I had pre-heated the popover tins in the oven before pouring the batter in, they were piping hot and splattered drops of the batter onto the tin cooked up before I put them in the oven. Those little bits of cooked batter rose with the popovers in the oven and made them look like aliens with antennae when I took them out! Still, they were delicious, and appreciated on a wet January evening with the sound of the rain, the rain, the rain coming down on us all.
