From horses, we move to electric
For this horse ballet, Renault and the new 100% electric Megane E-Tech wish to embody the change towards electric mobility. As a nod to the former world, the horsepower gives way to kilowatts.
Well, it certainly was the most surprising and gorgeous commercial I’ve ever stumbled upon! After a delicious breakfast that my husband and daughter purchased to bring home to our flat (fresh strawberries, baguette, salads, cheese, croissants, fresh butter) I walked once again toward the Chapel of Mary. It was a cloudy gray morning, but warm. And, crossing the Esplanade des Invalides, I ran into a parade of dozens of white horses! Some mounted, some riderless. Quite a stunning sight! Only in Paris. Later, searching the Internet, I found that this parade of horses was a commercial enterprise, advertising the new electric Renault. Oh, well. Less romantic than I’d imagined. It was a lovely Sunday morning in Paris. I did a bit of window shopping. Found a host of paper cranes hung in a store window. Admired a man carrying a large bouquet of flowers to a Sunday visit. The chapel was celebrating mass and was full, so I could not get in. Then, I returned to meet Frank and we walked the fifteen minutes to meet our friends and take a cab with them to Roland Garros for the men’s final. Huge crowd, sold out. Very fun to see Rafa been Casper Ruud: “Rafael Nadal easily beat Casper Ruud (6-3, 6-3, 6-0) this Sunday in the Roland-Garros final to win his 14th Porte d'Auteuil title and his 22nd Grand Slam trophy.” Then, dinner with our friends on the Champs-Elysees. Sunday in Paris. I like it!
