#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Sand Dollar, Playa Guiones

Playa Palada, Nosara, Costa Rica, Sunset

It is a beauteous evening, calm and free,
The holy time is quiet as a Nun
Breathless with adoration; the broad sun
Is sinking down in its tranquillity …

~ William Wordsworth

Low tide after sunrise, I walked to the rocky point, my 6 mile walk. Bright and hot, and the surfers seem to gather later on Sunday mornings; it’s mostly a few of us walkers. I go to my best meditation spot and have my sit there near the gently rippling waves among the rocks. Ahhhhhh. We have been here one week and a day today. I get lucky, find the sand dollar. I don’t pick it up. I am filming it in the sand, a short video to send home to the Special One, and just as I’m describing what a sand dollar is, the wave rolls over it and carries it away! The perfect ending to the video. I work, again, a bit on the poem for tomorrow night and hope to finish it tomorrow. A few more tweaks. I have stopped making my bed here. We are not in the bedroom all day except for quick changes. Who cares? I am engaging with rest. Our casa has been full, but two of our friends depart tomorrow and we will miss them. In the late afternoon we all roll off to a restorative yoga class nearby. I don’t know it’s meant to be restorative, and so I bring some energy for a regular yoga class. And then it’s all rest! Under the whirring cool of the overheard fans in the mostly open air studio, surrounded by tropical plants. Ahhhhh. It was the most heavenly yoga experience I’ve ever had! Pure rest. We have all fallen in love with this magical setting: Nosara.
