#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Tower Hill Botanical Garden
A frosted morning. Quite cold, lovely white all over the grass and the dead leaves. I decided to walk with Charlie, rather than swim, and he was very happy. I needed to breathe the very fresh air. Felt a bit of the pre-winter solstice blues. An annual, early December feeling. The light low, the short days, Christmas coming and so much undone. The swarm of workers in the house, getting things done, which is good. Frank out of his office, working in the dining room. In the woods, breathing helped me to feel more positive. Taking pictures helped me pay attention to the beauty and mystery of the earth. By the time I got home I felt better and got some good work done, and had energy. And I was able to say some encouraging things to someone I love, and to mean them, and I was glad for that. Quite a long day, really, so much activity. Picking up the special one from school, as I do on Mondays, in the afternoon. We bought tulips at Trader Joe’s to cheer up the house. We went into the yard to play and found a lot of interesting ice! I made pizzas for dinner, fed the gang, and we all hopped into the car and drove to Bolton to the Tower Hill Botanical Garden for the amazing show of lights. Songs and running and a happy evening outdoors in the cold with beautiful trees and art. A moon shining above it all. A mood shining above it all.
