The winter solstice so near. Less than 24 hours away. Tonight, after dark, a pretend sleigh ride, in the stroller, with Charlie and the special one and my daughter. It’s cold, but we bundle. There are Christmas carols to be sung and stars bright in the sky. A reindeer in the field to be visited. It’s a peaceful and joyful way to end the day, and I’m so glad we are outside. Soon after we go in, I hear a knock on the front door, and some shoes and a voice downstairs. Ah! It’s my dear friend stopping on her way home from shopping with her car full of groceries but she has a treat for me. And this is who she is, taking the time to give a special treat to someone she cares about even when she is quite busy with a carful of groceries to unpack, and undoubtedly has not yet had her dinner. Two very special groups today. My Ukraine group with deep sharing; and there are, of course, for those still in Ukraine, blackouts, and yet, a desire to be with each other. Nobody complains. But the strain is there. And I facilitate a prompt in a business group of Frank’s online, and that is very moving too. We explored giving. Tonight, I am looking forward to a good night’s sleep, and I am grateful for the swim I had this morning, so satisfying.
