Morning: Nantucket walk to town.

Late Afternoon: Charles River walk of home

Early coffee after a half-mile walk to town with Frank, a trip to the bakery, Born and Bread, and a walk home with delicious treats for breakfast with our hosts and treats to bring home. A light rain started to fall as we boarded the ferry. And, there was traffic, traffic, traffic. And the happiness of having had a weekend escape of friendship, fun, the open ocean, the salty swims, the conversation and lovely views and charming homes that made the traffic worth it. I thought I would swim when I got home, but I was tired and walked instead. To the garden, and Frank picked two ripe tomatoes, and then along the river through the woods being eaten alive despite the spray. The river, sadly, still stinks. No definitive answer on what has caused this. I hope we know more this week. It’s muggy and buggy and wet from a day of rain, and not much prettiness in the woods. Still, I am glad to home, and the house is clean and everyone is happy to see us. A lovely dinner with my son and daughter catching up. I am very much looking forward to writing time tomorrow. And a swim with my daughter in the pond.
