Mother’s Day, a flowering plant from Frank on the table, I wake to. A gorgeous new lariat; a desert moon, with a homemade card on the coffee maker, coffee set to go. A call from my son, a plan for a kayak next weekend. A second Covid vaccination for my daughter. A day of skipping my walk to spend 6 miles of walking by gardening and landscaping, planting and clearing brush on a gorgeous day, working with my husband and our friend Rob who helps us often on these big projects. My youngest comes for dinner with her boyfriend, brings a beautiful flowering plant for my office. Frank cooks Chilean Sea Bass for all of us, delicious. Family walk in the cool air after dinner. I sit with my daughters by the Charles. The pair of herons fly over the trees in sky going to dusk. And, I wrote to my mother, from a photo, in my journal, and then sent my weekly Aim for Astonishing prompt too. Ending the day in exhaustion, delicious exhaustion, and gratitude.
