#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Is this the husband, father, who is skimming toward me so enthusiastically on the river? He comes so close as I stand on the dried grass. I think he’s enjoying having me take his picture, over and over again. Soon, we both tire of this. I walk to the next landing on the river. He follows me. Swims straight to me. In fact, steps out of the river on the dried grass, rubs his belly in the mud. I keep going. At the next landing, he follows me, lifts off the river and flies straight at me. I back up quickly. I cannot seem to tell if he is friendly or aggressive! But he sure is a beauty, and we are getting to know each other. It’s a cheery start to a busy day. A day bookended by writing webinars. Both rich and rewarding. And, in between, I read the Boston Globe and discover that I’m eligible to get a vaccine appointment on Monday! I’m really really grateful for that news. In the afternoon, between groups, I sit down to revise a poem for tomorrow’s poetry workshop. I thought I was going to do one about the garden and my daughter; instead, open the one about the angel at the brook. And, looking over my feedback notes I immediately see what to fix. I think it’s better, and send it off. So, I happily make dinner and it seems so strange to be making dinner with the daylight. I am getting the vaccine soon!
