#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Poetry is often the art of overhearing yourself say things you didn't know you knew. It is a learned skill to force yourself to articulate your life, your present world or your possibilities for the future. We need that same skill as an art of survival. We need to overhear the tiny but very consequential things we say that reveal ourselves to ourselves.
~ David Whyte
Pink sunrise through the window. A morning for a walk. Still, someone not feeling well in the house, but I get out with Charlie into the wet leaves and the cloud-white river. I think about the comments last night on my new poem; insights I want to integrate. I take a swim indoors and have some time at my desk. Prep for tomorrow’s Charles River Writers. Some days it’s sweet to binge on Sesame Street, the early years (when my little brother was tuned in). Especially when there is someone special napping in your lap.
