#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Early rise into a cooler day. For some reason, all the blankets from the house have been removed. A chilly morning, but sunny, so sunny, and pleasant and fresh aired. I walk with my friend; we make a change and drive to Squibnocket with both of my dogs and walk from through Stonewall Beach and head toward Lucy
Vincent over the rocks. One summer, four years ago, we rented a house on these beaches and this was my morning walk for a month of wonderful sunrise walks. Charlie was younger then, and Suzi too - how they swam and ran visiting all the other dogs and Charlie dove into all the waves after sticks and balls. So much quieter, both of them. But Suzi is happy and dips in the Atlantic waves. We have a wonderful long jaunt in the sunshine. Relaxing at breakfast on our deck, my youngest shows me a video story she has been writing while waking up this morning: Moon Jelly Memories, a story memoir vignette with pictures. (Want to see it? She said I could share the pdf. Email me and I’ll show you–it’s delightful). So, I’ve told the kids I’ll work on a 20th Anniversary publication of Before You Forget - The Wisdom of Writing Diaries for Your Children if they are interested in doing it with me. The girls have both wholeheartedly agreed, and now I need to check with my son. I think he’ll agree. Tonight, after dinner, I sent off the new poem draft I’ll workshop tomorrow. It’s such a fresh draft from one I started last week. I think it needs a lot of deepening. My pictures are very challenging to upload here with this Internet, and especially at night for some reason, so I cannot get the others to load that I took on this morning’s walk. Tonight, I will close with a prayer for the safety of all those in harm’s way from Laura, bearing terribly down on Texas and Louisiana. What is my prayer? Be protected from harm, let comfort reach you, and kindness too, and grace.
