How happy the ferns made me today in their frisky fulness. I woke way, way too early. Sun rising slowly. Soon the barred owl’s call. I went out into summer warmth. And shortened my walk so I could transplant some ferns into a garden before leading my Farm Pond Writer’s workshop. Well, I got them dug and in the wheelbarrow, and found a lovey new colony of Jack-in-the-pulpit while doing so, and then I had to break. I left them watered and covered in compost and look forward to planting them in the morning. How wonderful to be back with the Farm Pond Writers. I led writing prompts on Ages of Life, using automatic writing. Very successful in terms of the style and content of the writing that was generated. In the afternoon a swim, and some moodiness. Overtired. Just in need of some rest to be back to my cheerful self. And sadness for the news of the outrageous and tragic loss of life. Such sorrow to realize how we have met this horrible milestone of losses.
