Super Moon Rising Over the Charles River

Super Moon Rising Over the Charles River

3:00 a.m. wake up into a beam of moonlight on my head through the window and I feel grateful to feel its charge of energy on my forehead, a kind of blessing. Later, the sun beams on my back, heating me like my walks on the beach not so long ago. I feel like sprinting and charging through the woods with sunshine energy. I cross the trestle bridge and walk through the meadow along the river, then cross the street into the far meadow where I can be with the buds on the trees and the far reaching sky all in cloudless blue. Such a lovely old nest I find, and I see a bluebird fly up onto the bare branches of an aspen! What a gorgeous day on this earth to be walking. I take my time for a rainless day. Today I have meetings and work with the IWWG, and I also think hard and consider some fresh ideas about where my letter project is going and I feel re-engaged, having read some Mary Ruefle erasures; she always gives me insight and enthusiasm with her imagination and humor and vision and voice. April fresh I feel today and humbled and grateful for the bounty of this good day. Tonight, I meet with my poetry pals from across the miles. Marlon shares a chapter from his novel and Randy a new poem inspired by the pandemic; and I share a poem I’ve been writing since last September and recently revised. We laugh and deeply connect and appreciate all there is to appreciate about each other’s writing. I thought I didn’t feel like meeting tonight and sharing. As soon as I was there with them all resistance evaporated, and I got exactly what I needed. Giving and receiving. Just before I met with them my daughter came in from her trail bike ride in the woods and said, “Who wants to see the super moon?” I ran across the meadow to the river, because I certainly did want to see this amazing sight.
