#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

I went out into the after-storm, the littering, the turned over yard. We lost a bench. The one at the edge of the river–swept away. Darn. Anyway, it was lovely-warm, but I didn’t walk that long; Suzi was limping along and I thought she needed to cut it short. I am so enjoying listening to the Adrienne Rich biography on Audible. Now I am done with the novel for nighttime; it was okay. A first novel. I finished it, because I bought it new and didn’t want to waste it: The Margot Affair. But it was only marginally worth it. Instead, I am so appreciating every memoir or biography I’ve read or listened to in the last few months. Before I walked, I worked on the Chilmark poem; I finished this draft. At least for the moment, I feel that I have very much improved it. I found that I may have really gotten to the heart of it, the secret reveal. I was very happy to lead my Tues. afternoon monthly Aim for Astonishing webinar in the late afternoon across time zones. It was a remarkable session of lovely writing and brave and honest, funny and poignant sharing of writing. I had given a travel photo prompt, and didn’t realize even how fun it would be to see so many wonderful travel photos in this time of no travel! I glimpsed so many exciting places. Oh dear, I know where I was and what I was doing thirty-three years ago tonight. A night of difficult, prolonged labor with my first-born, my son, who was over two weeks overdue, taking his time. How could this be thirty-three years!?? I bought him some treats today to deliver him in the morning. What joy.
