#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

A morning for a change of scene. Wiser, I dressed for cold. Very cold, 21 degrees. I drove up the road to walk the other side of the river, and the dogs were happy for the adventure. We haven’t walked here in a couple of months. When we reached the view of the river the tops of the trees were orange in the morning sun. Which was lovely. It was a little hard to enjoy the walk as much as I would have liked, even though I had on my hiking boots, not sneakers, and two jackets and a hat. Still, we persisted. At home, I went to my Thursday morning poetry workshop with my new poem, and relief, and surprise, it was well received. I got some good ideas about some changes. A quick lunch break, and then a rushed trip to the market, and then I ran the open mic event for the IWWG, interviewed Jennifer Smith Turner, and she read from her new novel, Child Bride, and she was wonderfully entertaining. Then, I built a fire, my bones still cold from the morning hike, and made a nice dinner for the family, my eggplant parmesan. Nearing the close of a very busy week of workshops and writing, finally, I relaxed tonight, very happily by my roaring fire.
