#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Lovely, I left the windows open and woke to a breeze blowing a damp chill through the room that reminded me of camping trips or sleep-outs when the morning is cool and fresh and full of the birds singing everyone awake. This day brought just what I needed. First, my youngest says yes, she would like to walk with me. And I have waited. And the sun is shining. And everything is still new in the woods, more and more. I spot my first wild geranium of the season as she chats and chats. I am so happy to listen to her recount her special graduation weekend with her boyfriend and his family and all that it meant to her, she wants to talk the whole thing out with me as we head down lady slipper row, counting the blooms we see as we walk, she is counting for both of us, and telling me all of her feelings and insights about this big rite of passage weekend. In the afternoon we take her father and our dear friends to the movies in the middle of the afternoon. I need this play and rest and fun so much. It’s a chance to be with our daughters after this momentous weekend: growing up, when school ended for them, it was the beginning of summer and freedom. Now, soon, it’s the beginning of jobs and apartment hunting. We watched the silly movie and laughed. And, after I drove everyone home and gave Frank a quick meal, I did something else I was excited to do: drove to the Apple Store and picked up my repaired computer. I feel such renewal today.
