#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Morning Ski, Charles River

Morning Ski, Charles River

Again, out in the early morning on skis. Low sun, a shock of a bright ball through the trees. Perfect powder. Suzi stayed home. She knows how to take care of herself. Charlie was all energy and good cheer, rolling in the snow to rub his entire body in happiness. We stayed out a long time; a melt will come, after the weekend. I’m enjoying this now. My day didn’t go as planned; I didn’t make my trip overnight to Amherst, as the poetry reading, Mary Reufle, was cancelled due to weather. So, tonight, I went to a more local reading, Lily Poetry, featuring Heather Hughes and Andrea Read feature and this intimate setting for poetry was a lovely substitute, and wonderfully stimulating. I drove home under a three quarter moon, extra bright because of the snow all around. I fussed with my two new Montreal poems, just the tiniest bit, because when I looked at them today I still felt they are working. A very satisfying part of the day was interviewing a new writing coaching client: like a blank page, a new relationship. I’m so eager to read her writing, see what will unfold for her in this process. My Farm Pond Writers have been sending me the pieces they will read tomorrow night at our Annual December Open Readings to review. We will have candlelight and a fire, food and friends, there will be a hush in the living room as the listeners, assembled, will wait for the readings to begin. Poetry and prose, every piece is uniquely made and expressed. Truth and beauty. It will be exquisite.
