#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
May you always know the truth
And see the light surrounding you~ Lines from “Forever Young,” Bob Dylan
Woke up in our hotel on Lexington Avenue, the 19th floor. Frank wished me a happy birthday and volunteered to go down and get our coffee. Strange to wake so far from grass and trees and birds lively outside the window. Exhilarating and exciting, though. Frank walked me to the nearby Cornell Club for the IWWG Writing Conference, and I looked around for anything natural and lovely to take a picture of, but I was in a hurry and went inside for the day. Lovely to see writing friends and make new ones, to talk about poetry, to meet other authors. And my guest blog for Writing Workshops Dallas was published today, and I was pleased about that. But the best part of the day was still to come. A short walk back to the hotel, it was gray skies and no trees. Then we walked to Broadway, and crowds and excitement, but no real nature. A lovely birthday dinner for me, with a friend and Frank and THEN, the theatre. Second night in a row to see a show! We say the Tony Award winning musical, Hadestown, and it was thrilling and superb, and we had wonderful seats, and it was pure thrill. And the set before the show began was the one picture I took today, and sometimes you need to go indoors to be dazzled. A wonderful birthday for me with my husband. And a quick walk back to the hotel under the bright lights of the big city.
