Charles River Wetlands
It was early, it was buggy, my back being bit the whole way, it was hot and the sky was a shattering blue above the wetlands where I stopped. What a restless mood I had so much today. It's summer/fall, not quite either. I'm tired in bright daylight, this is a pity. Here's where the day came fully alive for me: a long conversation with a trusted consultant, over a video call we shared. One singular moment, talking about my work as a workshop facilitator and why I do it, why I care about sparking people's imaginations into risk taking as writers. For a moment, I'm overwhelmed by emotion, and he's listening, carefully, and attentively, and because I took a detour from his question, suddenly, and shared from my heart, he was moved, and he was emotional too. And then it was so much more than a business call. It was a spark of true connection. Tonight, this recording enlivened my evening. After restlessness, this calm:
