Summer weather seems to really be over. More clouds and the air is cooler and stayed that way all day. I woke up and revised Heaven and Earth for critique tomorrow night. For today, at least, problems solved; minor changes, and it’s better. After walking, I revised two more recent pieces and added them into my chapbook – which is growing, and really can grow no bigger unless I start removing pieces. Tonight, I will sleep soundly after a day of cleaning up clutter, in my writing, at my desk, in my files, throughout my home office, sorting and dumping, clearing and cleaning. I feel lighter, fresher, and, full of that lovely hopeful energy that comes from letting go of what I don’t need to hold onto, in words and papers and files: compression is so satisfying once it’s achieved.
