Skis are the right choice. Still cold, snow is a frozen surface. Suzi is recovering - her hips had a hard time yesterday, so it's just me and Charlie today. We ski the former hospital grounds and Charlie meets many friends being walked by their humans.
I'm in the mood to hear a good story, so I listen to two New Yorker short story podcasts. The one I like the most is Nicole Krauss reading her short story on The Author's Voice, "Seeing Ershadi," because it's smart and suspenseful, and I don't realize until the very last paragraph or two what a brilliant feminist story it is. And now I want to listen to it again, and perhaps I will, skiing tomorrow.
