#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
The first thing I love this morning in the fresh air is where the snow has melted to reveal an intriguing composition of layers - tree bark and leaves and lichen on grass - pictured here, it looks like an underwater scene. Then, passing into the frozen wetlands, this is my favorite winter pastime: skidding around in my boots on the ice that changes daily. This morning it's glassy, solid, unmarred. The black branched tree I see every morning, it stands overlooking where the swelling brook meets the Charles. This brook, these wetlands, are a place of such quiet and joy. I am centered, balanced, at peace. I want to carry the scene in my mind and heart through the whole day.
