Out of bed at 6:15 and into the pool for some laps before walking. My walk from my Tampa hotel is along concrete sidewalks, strip plazas, past parking lots. My challenge is, find what is beautiful in any landscape. I look up, above the tops of the stores and ugly buildings, because there is always sky and the dramatic shape, texture and color of morning clouds. Even a chain link fence has charm when wrapped by a flowering vine in bloom. I bend to appreciate contrasting colors and textures of landscaped plants along the concrete sidewalk. I have found what I can fall in love with, found just what I needed to appreciate this November morning in muggy and sunshiney city before going cheerfully back to a day of strategic planning indoors.
