Lapse: A Saturday of cool, wet feet, a chill, a walk doesn't warm me, and all day, fall wind streams in my blood like thin ice, and it's only just over the edge from summer, but I'm damp-cold and I cannot get warm, and so in the late afternoon, when I have the right moment to write, instead, I crawl under many layers of blankets and burrow, even my head is covered, and I make a little space between the blankets so I can breathe, and soon, soon, I am fast asleep.
