#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Today is the last day of summer.
In autumn, in elementary school, for homework we were sent outdoors. We collected colorful leaves and pressed them between wax paper with an iron.
Autumn leaves weren't just something pretty to kick into piles or pick up when one spun from a branch to the ground at your feet. Leaves were something you could look at and wish to understand.
