jaded, and fairly uninspired, for no good reason, it's how I feel this morning, walking. The flowering so fresh of the spring and summer has passed, the easy viewing, the photos, coming so swiftly, everywhere bright and fresh. Welcome to September, this drying browning un-lasting time of change. So, I walked and my spirit was flat, it wasn't moved. Okay, so what? I only need one photo, one photo for my blog, because that's what I do. But it can't be a good enough photo, I just don't want good enough, I want more. That's for me. It's for you, too, whoever you are, if you are there, if you're interested at all in what I post: we want delight. And there it is! Suddenly, the side of the trail, a plant I love and see so rarely, like a jewel, still, it's dying, and dying is so lovely, this ruby center, these fading leaves. Just what I need. And, then, invigorated, my faith fed, my faith restored, I wanted not just this - but more! What more can I find???? And then, the check on greed. This beauty is enough, and more than enough, it's food for a day, it's a stunning delight, and I am satisfied, and all day, I remember this, and am grateful. More is milkweed, seeds busting out.
