Ferry Beach, Saco, Maine

The temperature dropped - yesterday was a cool day of rain - so, I slept by the sea, last night with the windows closed, and woke to the promise of drier day, still, under clouds. It was a silvery morning, glittering sand under steely sky. I walked and walked on the mostly vacant beach, a quiet sea.

Sitting on the porch at Ferry Beach to write this blog, my daughter, who is with me here, snapped these pictures: The writer at her work. Today, we return to Riverwoods.
