In the absence of company, I have the freedom from distraction I need to let the pictures come, effortlessly, into view. This morning, I am solitary and unselfconscious. I take my time, looking at what pleases me for as long as I like:
this bit of bright blue sea glass glinting on the sand in the colorful company of a few smooth stones; a blue beach ball, blown to shore by wind or waves to this lonely spot, some camper's craft project? and the Queen Anne's lace in pink and white blooming wildly in view of the Sound at the top of the stairs we climb and turn for one last look at the morning tide before heading home for breakfast, still, while the quiet house sleeps.
Satisfied, with all the beautiful moments of experience I collected, all of them fresh and entirely new this day.
