#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Jewel of the Marsh
In the winter landscape inspiration is often hidden, like a treasured secret, and must be sought. Yesterday, there was easy plenty - so much blue sky above filling me up with every step.
This morning all is gray and brown. No elements of rain or snow create drama or obvious sparkling beauty. It's a dry scene. All I ask for is one, one wonderful awakening to take home with me to write from. I follow impulse.
My brook runs to the river, spills into marsh. Pools of water under the dry grass ice over. Here, in this plain, crunchy quiet there are the beaded ferns to gather, little brown jewels - a morning's riches.
I stay in the marsh as long as I need to receive. Finally, I take home trust - there is always enough becuase I know where to look. This knowing, is mine to keep. My trust in spirit is a jewel I own that cannot be taken from me. I will never relinquish it.
