Writing & Playing Back Stories of Repair:

A Webinar with Kelly DuMar & Franci DuMar

Join us Dec. 3, 7-8:30 p.m. (ET) for an interactive writing & playback theatre webinar

as part of the Playback North America UnConference

ABOUT THIS WEBINAR

CRACKED Rock.jpg

We’ve all experienced wounds, and we’ve all experienced repair. In this workshop, we will write, tell, and play back stories of repair, exploring the metaphor of “The Joins” detailed in Chana Bloch’s poem (below), and the art of Kintsugi as described by Val John Farris, in From Broken to Beautiful. Farris tells us that “in Japanese, the word Kintsugi means golden rejoining. . .In the case of this ancient art form it's about the power of transforming broken ceramic pottery into beautifully resurrected masterpieces. Beholding the artistry of Kintsugi one can immediately see its transformative power.” We will use brief writing prompts and playback structures to enact transformative moments of repair. No prior playback or writing experience necessary!
