#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
Who knows what time zone my body and mind are in? It was certainly hard to wake up. But there was sunshine, all day, and pleasantly dry and cool and breezy. Even though I was busy, and in a kind of dazed state. But so so so so so happy to be home. No coffee lines, no crowds or elevators, cloudy skies and hard-to-find meals and escalators. I pushed the button my for coffee maker, no waiting. And the full house of loved ones. Helped one of my daughters with some challenging paperwork all morning. Relief of that behind. A swim! I did love the hotel pool, the view. But happy to be back doing long laps. And then Frank brought the special one and I took him for a swim and his new favorite thing is pretending to be one of the eight mallard ducklings which is a good way to be in the water, quacking. In the late afternoon, finally got my quiet walk with Charlie. The blue wavy river of homecoming. And on the brook, Mr. and Mrs. Mallard. Then, collapse into nap and wake after everyone has eaten. And the evening, wide awake, spent a few hours writing a poem for tomorrow, an idea I brought home from the conference that I didn’t think I had the creative energy to draft, but there it was, it came into being because I sat down and wrote what I thought I couldn’t write.
