#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream
A better night's sleep. Happy November. For the first time since spring I turned on the heat. I don’t think I’ve ever waited this long. It has been so mild. The boy was hungry and I got to make him a good breakfast, scrambled eggs and a hash brown. Then, going out the door, he requested a pancake, so I whipped that up and he ate it on the way to school! Not even grumpy and overtired from Halloween––cheerful and enthusiastic to head off to school. I had my Charles River Writer’s critique group and it was nice that we had time to do a quick write before attending to craft. I had a powerful session with a writing client having a breakthrough after that. I did have a chance to briefly revise a poem and my friend Jenny kindly looked at this revision and gave me helpful comments. So close to being done, and done well, I think. I felt like making dinner for everyone and I did. Just before I started to cook my daughter came in with our neighbor and her three children, Wave’s pals, and she invited them in for hot chocolate. Which was a cheerful and fun visit before I started to cook. Wave, at the table, thanked me for the delicious chicken. We had a nice conversation around the table, sharing the highlights of our days. My son stopped in too and joined us for chicken after his client, a walking client he works with around the property in nature. We had a fire. After dinner met with the organizer on Zoom of support for Israeli therapists, and discussed a possible group I will offer, co-facilitating with my dear friend. A full day. And then, of course, “yoga” with my grandson to top it off. The news is complicated and painful. But to know that some foreign nationals are able to get out of Gaza was something encouraging. My daughter Franci is starting a new project. Short videos on mindfulness, stress release and mental health. Here’s one of her reels released today.
