#NewThisDay Writing From My Photo Stream

Monarch & Thislte, Brickyard

Finally, this morning, I caught the monarch with my camera. I have passed this purple thistle at the Brickyard by the sea, daily. And have not been able to get up close. Until today. A parting gift. I walked in the warm morning sun with a passenger on my back. We played on the rocky beach and Charlie dove for rocks. Oh, how restored he is. So fun to hear my daughters––both with us for today––oooh and ahhh over Charlie’s rejuvenation. Of course, we took the girls to Chappy. What a beach day it was! Summer restored. A hot day, lots of time in the water. Tonight, I walk for sunset on Menemsha Pier. A glorious one. A nice evening of chats with loved ones: my son, by phone, calling to share his excitement about his forest bathing; and then upstairs for a tuck in with my daughter and a shoulder rub, and a goodbye by phone and text with a dear friend traveling across the sea tonight. Not as sleepy tonight as last night. I think I wrote my blog in my sleep. Tomorrow, Charlie and I take our goodbye hike.
