Walking along the Seine, Right Bank, morning sun
Rodin Museum, Sculpture Garden, "The Thinker"
We walk to the Rodin Museum and stay outdoors seeing the sculpture garden. Most impressive, and not pictured here, is the Gates of Hell. I couldn't bring myself to try and capture the haunting brilliance of this horrific scene. It lands in the psyche, somehow, to be digested.
After lunch, shopping, but we don't buy anything except some delicious fat slices of quiche for a light dinner on the flat before the concert. First, a two and a half hour nap!
Here is a taste of the music of Brigitte. It was a spectacular unforgettable evening of dancing. Out of the packed hall of happy bodies, crushed and cheering, into the fresh rain, the wet streets.
It's late, I'm ready for rest, deeply satisfied from this glorious day.
Waking, Paris, Rue de l'Universite. Early, way to early. So, before rising, we find tickets to a concert this evening, a lucky thing, almost sold out. Then we walk across the river, my husband is going to his morning meeting at St. George's, and we each have, with our cafe au lait, an exquisite buttery warm flaky croissant with strawberry jam at a cafe before separating. I walk back to the river, stay on the right bank, in the morning light, walking along the river with the joggers. I'm in Paris. I'm in Paris. I'm walking in Paris and the sky is bright blue and the sun is shining.
Concert, Olympia, Paris
